Rebalancing Leadership: The Power of Feminine Energy

Start Reading

I’m currently reading a book that explores the urgent need to rebalance feminine energy in our world. While I’ve read many on this topic, this one resonates deeply—it documents the systematic suppression of the feminine across thousands of years of human history.

We are witnessing the consequences of this imbalance today—more profoundly, destructively, and pervasively than ever before.

Why are we so afraid of feminine power? It is a force that nurtures, creates, opens, supports, includes, and shares. Yes, it can also destroy—but only when necessary and always in service of life.

Why do inclusion and sharing evoke fear? Perhaps it’s easier to understand when we consider the millennia of conditioning that favours power held by the few over the many. Still, one wonders why this imbalance exists at all, especially when nature itself assigns equal, though distinct, roles to masculine and feminine energies. My intuition suggests it may stem from the profound power of women to bear life—a primal force that commands deep respect.

This deep, visceral connection with life is embodied in the qualities we associate with the feminine: nurture, care, openness, kindness, supportiveness, and creative expression. The power to birth life—both literally and metaphorically—is mysterious yet grounded. Feminine mystery has long provoked unease.

Regardless of the origins, the encouraging reality is that more people today believe in inclusion, equality, sharing, respect, openness, and the nurturing of all—especially those suffering through no fault of their own.

Reflecting on feminine energy in the context of leadership, it’s clear that leadership is not about a lone, authoritarian, masculine saviour. True leadership is about those who feel called to serve, acting for the collective good. It requires a shift from distorted masculine traits—control, dominance, and power abuse—toward a healthy balance and cooperation between masculine and feminine energies.

The welcome rise of women into leadership roles is promising, but its true value lies in how these leaders—both women and men—embrace a magical and creative blend of masculine and feminine energies. By fostering cultures of collaboration, inclusion, and care, underpinned by clarity, purposeful willpower, and dedication to the greater good, we can cultivate a foundation for healthy growth for all.
