There’s a big focus on the feminine in leadership in these times and rightly so. International Women’s Day brought the focus onto women from a gender perspective – inviting us to think about the qualities and successes of women across the globe. The intensified efforts under the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion banner in organisations is showing us the myriad ways in which we trip over our conscious and unconscious biases creating cultures that, if not addressed, exclude so many people and ways of being. Embracing diversity creates wealth in our thinking, living and being.
Returning specifically to the feminine, we can open ourselves to qualities that are truly available to every one of us – male, female, non-binary. In leadership, feminine qualities open the door to so many riches such as a greater comfort with emergence and our ability to ‘go with the flow’; making great use of whatever presents itself with good humour and gratitude; collaborating with others through open and inclusive dialogue. Surely all qualities that help enrich.
Humanity is slowly opening itself to this deeper reservoir of qualities, and going beyond the conditioning and containers that have held us ‘safe’, toward new ways of living, being and leading that are based on seeing with new eyes. Seeing for example, that a richer tapestry can be created when we embrace the fullness of our feminine nature and integrate it within the more masculine energy models. If integrated into our models of leadership, new wealth will be accessible. The wealth of wholeness which will help support a better world for all.
